Flocks are the group of people who would be coming together to select a joint experience. Flocks are set up for a specific category of experience but usually expected to happen more than once.

To join a flock, navigate to the "Flocks" page in the menu bar and the "Discover Flocks" tab. This will provide a filterable list of all publicly listed flocks you are not currently a member of. Click on a flock to learn more about it. If the flock is open to join, there will be a "Join Flock" button to click on, and you will instantly be added to the flock. If the flock is not open to join, but allows requests to join, there will be a "Request To Join" button to click on. This request will then be added to the request list for that flock, to be reviewed and approved/denied by the flock members/admins. If there is no "Join Flock" button or "Request to Join" button, the flock is invite-only. To join an invite-only flock you must have a member or admin from the flock send you an invite to join. If you have received any invitations to join a flock you will have an extra tab on the "Flocks" page for "Invitations". You can accept or decline invitations from that tab.

To create, navigate to the "Flocks" page in the menu bar and the "Create Flock" tab. You must be logged in to create a flock. Once here you choose settings for the flock and click "Create Flock" at the bottom of the page.

To invite other users to become members of a flock, navigate to the flock you would like to add someone to. Then go to the "Members" tab and click the "Add member" button. Depending on the settings of the flock, you may need to be an admin for the flock for this button to be available. In the popup you can add an email to send an invite, or send an invite to someone you are following/one of your followers via the "Send Invite to Friend" drop down.

Flock admins have elevated permissions in a flock. A flock admin can remove a member at any time and remove a pickable at any time. Members can only remove themself from the flock, and any pickable they have added in the last 24 hours. Flock admins may have elavated permissions from other members for approving membership requests, sending invites and adding pickables, depending on the flock settings. Flock admins can change other members to be admins. Flock creators are automatically set as admins.

To leave a flock, navigate to the flock you would like to leave. Then go to the "Members" tab. Find yourself in the member list and click the red "Remove Member" button to the right of your name.

Pickables are the individual options that are picked between in a flock. They are tied to the category of the flock. For example if the flock category is "Restaurants" the pickables would be individual restaurants added to the flock by members.

To add pickables, navigate to the flock you would like to add pickables to. Then go to the "Pickables" tab. Click the "Add Pickable" button to start adding pickables. This button may not be available to all members based on the group settings. A popup will appear with two entry fields. The top entry bar can be used to manually enter the name of a pickable, click the enter button to the right once filled. The bottom field will populate a dropdown list of any pickables you have rated in other flocks of the same category. For example if you are a member of 2 flocks for restaurant picking, if you rate pickables in the first flock, they will be added to the drop-down entry field when you are in the second restaurant-category flock for quick adding.

To give a rating to a pickable, navigate to the flock you would like to rate pickables in. Then go to the "Pickables" tab. Find the pickable you would to rate and click on the "My Rating" area. In the popup that appears, use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the star rating from 0 to 5. Use the checkbox "Apply updated rating to this pickable in all flocks" to alter a rating in other flocks too if desired. For example if you are a member of multiple flocks for the category "Activities" and have a pickable for "Go-Karting" in all of the flocks, you can chck this box to have the new rating apply to "Go-Karting" in all those flocks.

To remove a pickable from a flock, navigate to the flock you would like to remove a pickables from. Then go to the "Pickables" tab. Find the pickable you would like to remove. Click the red remove pickable but on the far right of the pickable name. This button may not be clickable depending on the group settings and your role in the group. Everyone is able to remove a pickable they have added in the last 24 hours.

A pick is when a flock makes a selection from its pickables.

To initiate a pick, navigate to the "Pick" page. Find the flock you would like to initiate a pick for. Flocks will only be listed if they have at least one eligible pickable. Click on the flock and review the list of members shown, deselect any members that will not be participating in this pick. Once only the participating members are selected, click the button below the member list. A popup with the highest scoring pickable result will be displayed. You can accept this pickable, or pick again to move onto the next highest scoring pickable. Once you click accept, this updates the last time the pickable was selected for each participating member to the current date.

To set your pick preferences, navigate to the flock you would like to update pick preferences in. Then go to the "Pickables" tab. There is a pick preference slider on the right above the pickables listing. Move the slider towards "Variety" or "Favorites". This weighting factors into the overall score for all pickables evaluated when a pick is initiated. A preference of "Variety" will increase the scores for pickables that have never been picked or not recently, and decrease the scores for recently picked pickables. A preference of "Favorites" will increase the scores for the highest rated pickables and decrease the scores for the lowest rated pickables.

Following a user gives you updates on their public actions via the news feed. It also allows you to have the quick link of adding them to a flock via the "Send Invite to Friend" select box.

To find people to follow, navigate to the "People" page. Then go to the "Find People" tab. Here will be a filterable listing of users you are not currently following.

To block other users, navigate to the "People" page. Then go to the "Followers" tab. Click the pause button next to their name to block them. Once blocked, click the play button next to their name to unblock them. A blocked users cannot see your news and you do not see theirs. They cannot see your profile info, your followers, who you are following or your pickable ratings. You can still both be selected as participants if you are in the same flock.
